Pretty Diva

..

So this is the end of Blood+. 50 episodes aired for one year, I gotta say that this is my second longest anime that I’ve been following week by week based. I think Bleach is the first lol.

Warning: stop here to avoid major spoilers ahead.

..

This is an anime that I almost gave up watching during the first 10 eps, it was kinda boring back then. But nonetheless the drama it gave for the next 40 eps are pretty good. Imo the plot is at its best starting from second half, where *cough* Riku got raped and killed, it was a major turning point. Then we have the Sif, although they’re not very necessary for the main storyline but I dun find them too annoying, especially when there were only Moses, Karmen, and Lulu left. And later we have the Solomon one man show, he came out to save the world for a few times, but in the end they made him died at the back alley, quite a wtf if you ask me.

..

Hagi is the man.

Anyways, I’m quite satisfied with how it ends, although it is a happier ending than what I thought – I was actually expecting to see everyone dies except Kai. A little too kind to the characters perhaps, not even all Diva’s chevaliers die; but look, I’m glad that Nathan didn’t die just like that, what an easy way out if he did. And Hagi, ep50 is definitely one of my most favourite eps, Hagi just looking so-ooo good. Hagi banzai. Noticed that Saya and Hagi kissed in the first and last ep of Blood+ lols.

I love the Red Shield gang as well. Davido-san is the man, so as Lewis, the only person who makes us laugh from the beginning till the end. As for the Sif gang, Irene’s story is pretty sad, and I still dun get why did Moses choose to leave with Karmen, and thus in the end everything went to Lulu, the sole survivor of Sif.

And as for Diva, she looks deadly beautiful when she dies. I like Diva for her wonderful seiyuu (Yajima Akiko of Shin-chan in all Shin chan stuff, as well as Pino of Ergo Proxy), the roles switching is really some cool stuff, personally I prefer her Riku’s role more.

For Diva’s chevaliers, obviously Solomon is the guy, but I have no idea why is he had to leave like that, without even Saya and the rest knowing anything (well I guess). No comments for the rest, they just had to die sooner or later anyway.

Final moment before Saya’s pretty hair being cut by baka Kai.

Lastly, the main characters. Kai isn’t my favourite from the beginning till the end, and I dun get why he had to cut Saya’s hair lols, her hair looks so great until he cuts them. Total disgrace. Hagi on the other hand, good job – love this character the most, I guess. His love and loyalty for Saya, one word: whoa. And Saya, she changes quite a lot throughout the show, I kinda dislike her emotions swings. She could put up some good fights sometimes, but in reality I dun think she is any match to Diva. Then again, since she’s on the “good” side, so she has to win right? Besides, her costumes always getting nicer every time she changed, lols. Love the purple trench coat the most.

Another thing to look up in Blood+ is the Bgm (background music). They help a lot in enhancing the scenes, especially those fighting and emotional parts. Just did a little research and found out the composers for Blood+ OST are Mark Mancina and Hans Zimmer. They used to compose music for movies like the Lion King, Gladiator, Speed, Pirates of the Caribbean, and etc etc. So that explained the quality of Blood+ soundtrack, world class. Blood+ OST 2 is releasing on 27 Sept 2006 btw, which is tomorrow. Banzai.

So I guess that’s all for Blood+, thank you Production I.G and Aniplex for producing this anime lol, as I think it’s pretty good and entertaining overall, worth to spare some time to take a look if you have not.
