Happy year of Ox, or year of Hatsuharu kun, whichever you prefer. Artwork credit: CRLA.

It’s been two busy weeks as I’ve been traveling around during the Chinese New Year period. Up and down, here and there. This CNY seemed to be longer than usual as I only resume working on the 9th day. Which is tomorrow – you know how I feel now, lols.
Anyways, below are some random photos taken using my mobile during my absent period here.
..

CNY shopping in Pavilion. The deco not too bad. They have some nice lion dance performance too while I was there.
..

Meeting up with some friends at the Curve. They have nice outdoor CNY deco but the indoor ones like poo.
..

The week before everyone’s taking off for CNY break, some stuff arrived in the office. Looks promising.
..

Then fly to Singapore. Nothing too special, but I like the Skytrain service.
..

Departing. Changi airport is still very busy even though it’s already close to late night.
..

Salmon pasta @Pasta de Gohan, Sunway Pyramid. Quite a disappointment as the portion is very small, and pasta is less yummy than Pasta Zanmai’s. The pizza is not bad on the other hand.
..

CNY deco in Sunway Pyramid. This installation is very nice.
..

Fly again. Woke up at 4 something in the morning for this early flight to Johor Bahru. And LCCT never been so packed with humans – all going back to hometowns or going for holidays.
..

Then follow parents back to my very first home town in Terengganu. These food is must-have every time I am back here. Above is deepfried sotong ball. Sotong is squid, silly.
..

The closest one is keropok lekor (made of some-certain-fish, not sure which). Local Chinese nicknamed it gao sai “dog poo”, because of how it looks. Despite the name, this is the best local delicacy. Those selling at elsewhere are mostly fake * bleks :P *.
The one on the right is pisang goreng “deep fried banana”, and the last one is deep fried fish. Yeah, deep fried all the way.
..

Deep fried squid. Damn nice. The rice at the back is also a local special, Nasi Dagang “Dagang Rice”. But I am more of a fan of Nasi Minyak “Oily Rice”. Sometimes I dun get how these food got their names.
..

A peek at the back alley where I used to play a lot with my little friends and cousins until about six years old. I was brought up as a city kid after that.
..

Also been playing Patapon 2 on sis’s PSP through out CNY. Yes Japanese version. Too bad I didn’t get to finish the game before she’s taking it back to her place. I think I’m close to finishing the game too. :(
..
While it’s still valid (until the 15th day, Chap Goh Meh), Happy Chinese New Year to everyone who’s celebrating.

Great shot of the Sunway Pyramid decorations. Purty lights =D i’m envious of people living in asia atm, it just doesn’t feel like CNY here even though we have the festivals going on too.

Get what you mean, you just need the population to celebrate it sometimes :P
